Q.) What are the Requirements for watching Video on your site?
A.) Windows Media Player 7.1+ or Real Player 8+ is required to view our video clips. Both players are free and can be downloaded over the Internet. (Note: Some older videos viewed from the Industryview site are currently are only supported under Real Player. Windows Media Player will be supported when the existing videos have been encoded into the Windows Media format). Additionally, a sound card and speakers must be installed on the computer you are using to view video.
Q.) What are the recommended settings for browsing the website?
A.) 1024 x 768 or higher resolution
True Color (24 bit) or higher
Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
Windows Media Player 9
Q.) What are the most common streaming problems/errors encountered?
A.) The most common problem is a media player is not installed on your computer (red X where player should be) or an older player is installed with a old codec. Verify or install the newest version of one of the media players.
If the newest version is installed and the video will not stream at any speed or it gives an error, you may be behind a corporate firewall that does not allow streaming using UDP streaming. Real uses the RTSP protocol on port 554 and Windows Media uses the MMS protocol. Check with your IT department to verify if this is allowed on your network.
